Bulkhead # 2
For the bulkhead #2 I'm also building a jig, the first step is to draw some centerline both horizontal, and vertical. I'm using a 49*24 inch piece of 5/8 thick MDF. 24 inch is a minimum I would recommend using.
I then mark out the origin point for drawing both side tubes of the bulkhead.
I use a piece of mdf with 5 holes, the first for a nail the other four will be for a lead to draw my radius.
In action
I'm now ready to put some small block and bend some tubing.
This is how I'm bending my tubes. A mallet, some 4*4 and 2*4, I use the loose one to change the curvature and also to bend ends of the tubing. It's requires constant rechecking, but it does the job. As you can see in the second picture some of the tubes have bent in the wrong plane, but a few blows will take care of that.
